Katrin Baeuml, Testing Engineer, Regensburg, Germany
I joined AREVA T&D as a new graduate from Erlangen University, and I am now working in the Research and Development function in Regensburg. The first time that I heard about AREVA T&D was during a campus management day at the University. I was instantly attracted by the international opportunities on offer. In Regensburg we work every day with people from around the globe. As a testing engineer, I have already been to Arnhem in the Netherlands to complete tests, I will be going to Milan in the near future, and following that I will travel in Europe, and possibly also to China to complete more testing there. I received a friendly welcome from all the team when I arrived in Regensburg, and can already really see the benefits of working for such an international company.
Astrid Bart, Key Account Manager, Regensburg, Germany
I used to work in the medium-voltage factory as a Sales and Project Engineer. I dealt mostly with medium-voltage switchgear, throughout Europe, in Scandinavia, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland and even Japan. At the beginning of 2007, I started working within the Sales Community in Regensburg, working with E.ON Bavaria whose HQ is in Regensburg. I am now a Key Account Manager within the Sales Force. I changed job to increase the range of products I was in contact with, and to challenge myself. I now have exposure to the full range of T&D products and have much more contact with the clientele. I still feel I have a very international job as the products I deal with come from all around the globe. My new team was very welcoming when I started, and I was very impressed with the team spirit and the high-level of experience of my new colleagues.
Jie Gao, Sales Engineer, Beijing, China
I joined AREVA T&D at the beginning of 2006. As the first step of my integration program, I spent 6 months training at a factory in Suzhou. I worked in all the departments there and learnt a lot about our products. I’ve now been an area sales engineer for a year and have established relationships with our customers and managed projects independently. The job is certainly full of challenges, such as meeting objectives fixed by country action plans, so remaining confident and being passionate is very important. It means you learn a lot, and quickly! It’s incredible how much I have learnt in just over a year.
