Transmission and Distribution: AREVA acquires new Service business in Spain

AREVA‘s Transmission and Distribution Iberia division announced today the completion of its acquisition of Telemantenimiento de Alta Tension, S.L. (known as Telemat) by its Service Business Unit. Telemat is based in Barcelona and active in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, and will enable AREVA T&D’s Service teams to address the local customer base equipped with AREVA-legacy products with a proximity service offering.
Telemat offers integrated service solutions for industrial clients, including long-term maintenance contracts, medium voltage repairs and retrofit solutions. Telemat’s portfolio of approximately 600 industrial customers is entirely complementary to AREVA T&D’s existing Spanish Service business, based in Madrid and mainly made up of utility customers.
By combining AREVA T&D's high quality global solutions and decades of experience with Telemat’s local Service Centers, AREVA T&D will further strengthen its position in the Spanish industrial market by providing medium voltage refurbishment offers through its Ecofit™ capabilities.
Philippe Samama, Vice President of the Service Business Unit of AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution division commented, “This latest acquisition for the Service Business Unit will enable us to provide higher quality service standards to additional customers in Spain, especially for those who are part of our existing installed base in this region.”
